When Naomi Jensen is kidnapped, it takes her parents two days to realize she's missing. Escape isn't high on her list of priorities when all she has to return to is an abusive boyfriend and parents who never paid much attention to her. For the first time in her life she's part of a family-even if it is a family of criminals. But she's still a captive. In a desperate attempt to regain some control in her life, Naomi embarks on a dangerous plan to make one of her kidnappers think she's falling in love with him. The plan works too well, and when faced with the chance to escape, Naomi isn't sure she wants to take it.

I was very excited to get a spot on this tour. I first saw this book when it toured the blogoshpere at its release. The more reviews I saw, the more I wanted to read it. The book did not disappoint. I loved the story, the issues, and the characters. It was full of good stuff and some really hard stuff. I loved this book.

Naomi is kidnapped. This sounds like the most horrible thing ever, for Naomi, I am not sure it is. Naomi doesn't come from the greatest family and has a very rotten relationship. After being in the wrong place at the wrong time one night she is taken by a couple of guys who believe she is a witness to something. She is treated pretty ugly at first, but they take her to a nice home with a very nice woman who starts to take care of her. The longer she is there the nicer they get. Especially Jesse. After quite of bit of time being held captive, she starts to fall for Jessie... now she doesn't know if she wants to escape and leave Jessie or just become part of the family.

I really liked this book. The writing was very realistic and I had a very easy time falling right into the story. I believed every thought in Naomi's head and I felt every felt her every emotion. The book is very emotional and getting attached to the main character was a very important for the story to be real. The author did a wonderful job on Naomi's voice.

Naomi was both strong and weak. This I liked about her. She had fight in her but she has been torn down so much she has forgotten over the years to use it. After being kidnapped, her fight returns. Unfortunately she didn't have a great life waiting for her return and the captors made her life somewhat comfortable. Naomi was a very confused girl, I have to admit... I was confused right along beside her. They got to me too.

I liked Jessie's character for the most part, but he always struck me as a bit creepy. I know Naomi was about to turn 18 years old, but he seemed quite a bit older and it really kind of creeped me out a bit, until his story comes out. Still a little strange but he hasn't had a it easier with the crazy people either.

There were quite a few times when the author added the POV of Naomi's mother. I really liked these parts. She wasn't the mother of the year and she knew that, she also knew she wanted to find Naomi, she really did love her, and she was full of regret. It was nice to see what the parents were going through in the mess of their daughter disappearing.

I was really rooting for Naomi throughout the book. The more I read the more I fell in love with this story. Very dramatic, even suspenseful at times and very heart wrenching.

I absolutely loved it an can't wait to read the next installment. I really want to hear the rest of Naomi's story.

Staying in love can mean running away...

Two years after watching her kidnappers go to prison, Naomi Jensen is still in love with one of them. Jesse will be released in a few years, and Naomi knows college is the perfect distraction while she waits. But when her new friend Finn makes her question what is right and what is wrong, she begins to wonder if Jesse is the one for her...until she discovers he's out on parole. Naomi must sort through her confusion to figure out where love and freedom truly lie-in Finn, who has no connections to her past, or Jesse, who has just asked her to run away with him.

  2. I'm kind of terrified of these novels, but at the same time, I'm so curious that I HAVE to read them. Stockholm Syndrome is simply fascinating to me. Thanks for sharing!
