Meet Erin. Smart student, great daughter, better friend. Secretly the mastermind behind the popular advice blog Miss Fortune Cookie. Totally unaware that her carefully constructed life is about to get crazy.

It all begins when her ex-best friend sends a letter to her blog—and then acts on her advice. Erin’s efforts to undo the mess will plunge her into adventure, minor felonies, and possibly her very first romance.

What’s a likely fortune for someone no longer completely in control of her fate? Hopefully nothing like: You will become a crispy noodle in the salad of life.

I really wanted to read this book and was really excited to get on the tour. This book looked so amazing and it was. I had a blast reading this book. The book is filled with so much humor and wit and I was laughing through the entire book. The book isn't all laughs though, its about friendship, family, growing up, letting go, and yes a little bit of romance.

Erin is Irish who grew up Chinese. She was born in China, she can speak Manderin, her two best friends are Chinese-American, and she loves everything Chinese. Erin is now a senior and since her freshman year she has been writing an advice column called Miss Fortune Cookie, the advice always starts with a fortune from a fortune cookie and Erin is actually quite good. Her ex-best friend from junior high,Mei, who became her friend again in high-school, who is on her way to becoming one of her best friends again, writes Miss Fortune Cookie for a little advice on her Ma vs. Boyfriend Vs. College Choice issue. Miss Fortune answers her back with pretty good advice and Mei follows it. This sets Erin's night into a whirlwind of events, emotions, and decisions. She learns a lot about family, friendship, honesty, choices, and love.

The book was a lotta fun! I really can't say more than that. It sums it up so well, FUN! I loved the story, the characters, the love interest, the conflicts, the advice columns, and the fortunes. It was all good for me. Quick paced, page turner, a few good out loud laughs, and of course me telling my hubby about the book all the way through. (that's a good sign)

I loved the conflicts in the story, it was all about finding her you are, where you belong, and growing up to be your own person but not forgetting to include the ones you love. Mei is 1st generation Chinese in America and her mother is pretty hard core on the old Chinese ways and hardcore on Mei working hard to get the best that America can offer. I could clearly see the conflict of Mei wanting to go her own way and also keeping her mother happy. I also felt the conflict that Erin had wanting to help Mei make the right decision, but what is the right decision, and when do you just butt out. I really enjoyed watching Erin work it all out in her mind. I also loved loved loved the letters, advice, and fortunes for the advice column.

I liked Erin's character. She was smart, witty, clueless about her own life but very good at giving other's advice. She had a great relationship with her mother and I really enjoyed seeing that. She was excited about moving on with life but scared to leave the life she has now behind. I thinks he was true character for a girl her age.

I am going to say it again, it was a FUN read, filled with lots of good stuff and was very  heart warming and cute. If you like chic lit or contemporary, or coming of age books, this is a great book for you. It is more on the funny and less on the sappy so more laughs less tears, and that is always good.

Lauren BjorkmanI grew up on a sailboat, sharing the tiny forecastle with my sister and the sail bags. Against all odds, we are still friends. We started sailing in California and ended in Argentina. My favorite stops along the way were Costa Rica, Panama, Isla Providencia, Key West, the Azores, the Canary Islands, and Brazil.

During our voyages, my sister drew beautiful paper dolls for the both of us. We sewed amazing wardrobes for our stuffed animals. We became excellent swimmers and beach combers. We made up new lyrics for old songs. Canned food dominated our meals on crossings, so we really appreciated fresh fruit when we came into port. I dreamed of ice cream on the open ocean.

We kept up with school through a program called Calvert out of Maryland.

My dad read to us at night by the light of a kerosene lamp. Since then, I've always loved stories and wanted to write my own.

I live in Taos, New Mexico with my husband, and two sons. We often see coyotes outside our window.
